Foundation Fix in Whitesville, KY

Challenge

Homeowner Melvin H. from Whitesville, KY had noticed his retaining wall starting to cave inwards towards his garage. With all of the rainfall that Kentucky received this past spring, he knew that the pressure that the soil was exerting was the problem. He wanted a solution to push the wall back to its original place, and Healthy Spaces did just that. 

Solution

Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, met with the homeowners and discussed a plan of action along with a quote the same day. This GeoLock wall anchor system that was installed consists of galvanized steel earth anchors that are embedded into the soil out away from the foundation wall.  They are connected to steel wall plates with steel rods.

Now that the anchors are installed, it will hold the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. A unique and important feature of this system is its ability to be tightened during dry periods, allowing for improvement and straightening of the wall over time.
