Foundation Problems in Tennyson, KY
Challenge
Donna and Glen W. from Tennyson, IN gave us a call because water was intruding in their basement. There are many signs and symptoms you can observe that may indicate your home is experiencing a foundation settlement problem, and the water intruding in their basement was one of them. They knew their basement wall had a crack in it but didn't realize it was starting to bow until the water was intruding. Horizontal cracks usually start out small and increase in width over time as the soil outside continues to put pressure on the wall.
They scheduled an appointment and Mike McAtee was sent to inspect their home.
Solution
Mike McAtee did a thorough inspection and sat down with the homeowners to talk through different options and give them a free quote. They decided that Geo-Lock anchors are the best solution. We work every single day fixing cracked, broken, settling, sinking, bowing, and pushed-in foundations, so Donna and Glen knew they were in good hands. These anchors can have 10 times more contact with the soil, resulting in more holding power in weak soils.
The wall went back to its original position and secured by the Geo-Locks. The homeowners were relieved and very glad they had a permanent solution to their foundation issues.
