Bowing Walls Repaired in Drakesboro, KY

Drakesboro, KY homeowner Debbie L. had been putting off getting her foundation fixed. She assumed it would cost a lot, but her mind couldn't stray from worrying about the "what ifs." She began to search the web to see if her home was even "fixable", and she ran across Healthy Spaces. She gave us a call and scheduled a free inspection with one of our System Design Specialists.

Solution

When Chris arrived at Debbie's home, he greeted her and she welcomed him inside. He did a thorough inspection of her home, looking for cracks and any other signs of foundation issues. They then sat down together and Chris explained what he had seen during the inspection and recommended the solutions that Healthy Spaces could offer. He recommended installing 28 PowerBraces around 3 of the walls that were bowing in the basement to provide them support and help straighten the walls to what they used to be. Debbie agreed and crew lead Garrett & his team got to work restoring Debbies home.

This wall was bowing outward so bad that our System Design Specialist could stick his hand in it. You may not realize this, but the soil around you home puts a lot of pressure on foundation walls, and over time, the pressure causes the crack to get worse.

Stair-step cracking is a common sign that means the foundation problem is getting worse. As the wall bows more severely in the middle, the corners are held up by adjacent walls, creating the stair-step cracking effect.
