Flooding Crawlspace in Owensboro, KY Repaired
Challenge
This Owensboro home was experiencing a muddy, watery flooding that lead to indoor air quality problems and structural instability. The homeowners noticed that the crawlspace was muddy again this year, but more than usual and they wanted to get the problem taken care of. They noticed that the floors in the living room and kitchen were beginning to bow and squeak, which they realized meant that the subfloor was warping due to the amount of moisture present in the crawlspace. They contacted Healthy Spaces to restore their crawlspace and make it dry all the time.
Solution
The Healthy Spaces team, lead by Richard Cline, removed the existing plastic vapor barrier, which was torn and degraded before they began installation of guaranteed products. They installed 1,896sq ft of drainage matting, 101 linear feet of EZFlow 3in Drain System, a SuperSump, 4 new supports under the living room and kitchen floors. They covered the entire 1,896 square feet with durable, warrantied CleanSpace engineered film vapor barrier. After that, Richard and his team installed a 30' discharge line, an Everlast Crawlspace Door and an EverLast Access Well in the two sections of the crawlspace that were not connected.
