Here, demolition has begun for the perimeter drain system. The installation crew performed dust control measures to help minimize the impact of the concrete dust on the rest of the house.

Here is a picture of the finished trenches. Now, the trenches will be cleaned out and Waterguard will be placed inside.

This is a close up of the area where the sump pump will be installed. The crew has removed a square of concrete and will now use an auger to create a sump pump pit.

In this photo, you can see that the crew has started to build the discharge line from the area where the sump pump will be installed.

Now, the crew has installed the Brightwall. Brightwall is an antimicrobial, durable, non-molding plastic product that will help direct the wall moisture into the Waterguard system while isolating the basement from that moisture.

Here is a close up of the electrical panel. The crew created a cut out around the panel.

In this photo, you can see the discharge line is being laid in the side yard of this Madisonville, KY home. The discharge line will direct water from the basement far out into the yard so that it will not leak back into the basement.

Here is a picture of the patented IceGuard from Basement Systems. The IceGuard keeps the discharge line from freezing or becoming clogged.

Back on the inside of the basement, the installation team is laying the Waterguard in the cleaned and prepped trenches. The Waterguard will not clog because it sits on the footer, not in the mud beneath the foundation.

Here, the installation crew is placing the sump pump bucket in the hole. They have assured that the hole is deep enough and properly level.

One of the most helpful features of the Waterguard feature, besides the flanges for capturing wall moisture, is the inspection port. Inspection ports allow for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.

The sump pump is now in place. One of the best practices is to surround the sump pump with a loose pea gravel to allow water to pass through to the sump pump easily.
