Tell City, IN Crawlspace Makeover
Challenge
The homeowners in Tell City, IN were experiencing continuing odors and moisture in their crawlspace despite regrading their yard and extending their downspouts. They finally decided that enough was enough and called Healthy Spaces for a crawlspace evaluation. The Healthy Spaces Design Specialist discovered that the crawlspace had fungus present due to elevated relative humidity levels. The crawlspace was also experiencing periodic water intrusion, which was causing humidity issues as well.
Solution
The entire 1349 square foot crawlspace was treated with Bio-cide and Forticell to remedy the fungal issues. Next the installation team installed SilverGlo insulation to the crawlspace walls to increase energy efficiency. Next, Cleanspace was installed throughout the crawlspace to isolate the crawlspace from outside air and the dirt below. CleanSpace vent covers were installed over all vents to ensure a visually pleasing look as well as an extra layer of protection against water intrusion and pests. Finally, a Sanidry dehumidifier was installed to ensure that the relative humidity stays low.
