Marion KY Basement Waterproofing Project
Challenge
Solution
First, the homeowner was shown with a level on the floor and a tape measure on the footer that there was only 2" of depth, meaning that Healthy Spaces could not install a Waterguard system like he had seen on the website. Instead, they would use Flowguard and also install a 4" pipe beside the footing to help with water flow. Due to the challenging configuration and the active flooding, the hole for the pump was dug out to get the water under control. Next, the team went about ackhammering the floor about a foot or more off the wall to enable them to install the 4" drain.
Once the sump pump was hooked up and running to get the water out, the crew was able to go about breaking up the concrete to enable them to put in the drainage system. After clearing the debris from the trenches and installing the drain and Flowguard, they were able to put rock around it and begin cleaning up the basement. The concreting in of the system will occur tomorrow. The homeowner said, "Steve, Jeff, and Talen have been great. They really made sure I understood why I needed the system that I had. They showed me scraps of Waterguard and placed it in my trench to show me how it wouldn't solve my water flooding problem. They walked the project with me constantly and even sent me update pictures in my email to make sure I knew what was happening even if I was at work!"
