Dawson Springs, KY Crawlspace Flooding Fixed
Challenge
These Dawson Springs, KY homeowners are suffering from a flooded basement with fungus problems. Concerns like these are rampant throughout Hopkins County, including places like Earlington, Hanson, Madisonville, Manitou, Mortons Gap, Nebo, Nortonville, Saint Charles, White Plains. The biggest challenge for this 971 square foot crawlspace was getting it dried out enough to treat the fungus and install the CleanSpace.
Tuesday, the installation crew was not able to start the fungus work due to the wood in the crawlspace still being wet. The wood, and the crawlspace, had been receiving 24 hour drying assistance for the last 6 days! The crawlspace itself is drying out nicely, but the wood has only dried out some--not enough to take the steps that they need to get rid of the fungus. If the wood isn't properly dried out, the fungus will be back.
Solution
The craw has installed the Everlast door and the team drilled weep holes around the perimeter of at ground level, so the water can flow into the trenches. The team installed the drain system and sump pump. The pipes that they installed in the trenches are 6 inches wide and have a 2 inch corrugated pipe wrapped around netting with peanut white foam inside the netting. This white foam acts as a filter. The crew installed the discharge line with a lawn scape on the end of it.
