Shepherdsville, KY Basement Flooding Solution
Challenge
This Shepherdsville, KY home has been experiencing frequent basement flooding. The homeowners have discovered that the water table is pretty high in their area and groundwater seeps into the basement regardless of the season or amount of rainfall that they've received. The basement is constantly moist and the relative humidity is so high that mold growth is a problem. The homeowners decided that enough was enough and called Healthy Spaces to come out and solve their basement flooding problem.
The biggest challenge that the installation team would face would be completely the project quickly and efficiently while the basement flooded around them.
Solution
The installation team installed 119 linear feet of Waterguard around the perimeter of the basement. Waterguard is a perfect solution to the basement flooding problem because it will capture groundwater intrusion and weeping from walls without getting clogged. The rigid, durable plastic construction also ensures that the French drain system will not collapse as it is cemented in place. The Waterguard system will direct flood water into the SuperSump sump pump, which will pump the water out of the basement into a rigid, plastic discharge line. The discharge line will direct water away from the basement, so that it doesn't flow back in. After the entire system was completed, the installation team flood tested the drainage system and made sure that it could handle even the highest level of water. Now, the basement is dry all the time!
