Overview of Owensboro, KY backyard
In this picture, you can see the amazing view that the kids had of a pond as they would swing. Unfortunately, this pond means that the water table is very high in this area. Guess what's deeper than this pond? You guessed it, the basement of the house! The basement is leaking continuously and degrading due to the water trapped in its walls.
Waterguard Trenching Underway in Owensboro KY Basement
In this picture, you can see the Healthy Spaces team has jack hammered out the trench along this wall in the main basement room and is cleaning out the trench to be able to drain the existing water out of the basement.
Overview of Main Basement Room
The basement of this home is comprised of two large rooms because the home has an original portion and a newer addition. Both rooms in the basement show deterioration from water intrusion, but this room has the most degraded corner. In this picture, you can see evidence of water leaking out of the wall and onto the floor over the years.
Overview of Flooded Basement Room
Here is the second basement room just one day later. This room is now actively flooding due to an overnight rain. This room is closer to the pond that we saw in the previous picture and it tends to flood more quickly than the other room. In this situation, the homeowners busily gathered up their storage items and are attempting to remove them from the basement before they are ruined. What a pain!
Cracked and Sagging Corner of Owensboro Foundation
In this picture, you can see the stair-step cracking along the block foundation wall. That type of cracking indicates that the entire corner of wall is falling down and away from the house. If you look closer to the floor, you can see the blocks look like they are dissolving. Thankfully, between the Foundation Supportworks Push Pier system and the Basement Systems Waterguard system, Healthy Spaces can make this basement dry all the time and restore the foundation to level condition permanently.
Wall Failure in Owensboro, KY Basement
In this picture, you can see how the basement wall is failing. The bricks have started to crumble and crack. The discoloration that you see on the walls is mold growth and mineral deposits from the water intrusion. Once the basement has Waterguard installed to prevent the flooding, the homeowners aren't going to have to worry about these problems.
Overview of Basement Corner That is Sagging
In this picture, you can see how the blocks on the two different walls don't align properly any longer. You can also see that the wall on the left is bowing outward at the top. Damon, the Healthy Spaces foundation repair expert tells us that a wall anchor will repair the bowing wall.

Here is the opposite side of the basement. You can see the wall degradation present here, too! The basement is actively leaking and the installation team is making a plan on how to handle the active water intrusion while installing the Waterguard perimeter drain system.
Preparing the Main Room for Waterguard
Here is a picture of the installation team beginning work on the main room in the basement. As the installation team begins to jackhammer out the trenches for the Waterguard perimeter drain, water began to leak into the basement again. In order to help divert the water properly, the team drilled small holes along the wall and directed the water toward a temporary pump.
Owensboro, KY Cinder Block Wall Cracking
In this closeup, you can see where one of the blocks in the foundation wall has disintegrated and collapsed due to the constant influx of water flooding the basement. Because that block has failed, the blocks above it have sunk down, cracked, and are under tremendous strain. The floor above this area is also visibly sinking and it has caused the front door to be out of level and hard to close properly.
