This Mt. Vernon, IN family, noticed that their basement needed waterproofed. During heavy rain, unwelcomed water would find its way inside through 2 different cracks. Their carpet would be covered with water, causing possible mold growth. The homeowners got tired of trying to keep up with the rain, so they decided to give us a call. Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, was called to the rescue. When he arrived at the home, he greeted the homeowners and explained what he was going to be doing. He did a thorough inspection of the basement and proposed a solution. While basement waterproofing was definitely a top priority, a solution to keep the space dry and looking good was #1 on the list. A WaterGuard system was installed to direct any water to the new TripleSafe sump pump. Our EverLast Wall Panels were then installed on the bottom half of the wall. The neat thing about these panels is that nothing can ruin them- not even water! This family is so happy with their new finished basement and even happier that it is free of water.

A Wet, Constant Problem

With the basement leaking through the cracks in the walls every time it rained, they would worry about how bad the standing water in their basement would get. From that, it led to high humidity levels and mold growth.

What's worse than a wet carpet? Not much. The rainwater would get caught under the basement carpet. It would stain it, and create a musty odor which the homeowners smelt all throughout their home.

The Beginning of the Process

To start the demo, the old carpet is pulled back to prepare to install the WaterGuard system. This system is placed around the perimeter of the basement to catch water and direct it to the sump pump.

Ready to Install

This WaterGuard system is a French drain installed below the floor slab but above the foundation footing, keeping it out of the "mud zone" and preventing clogging.

The beauty of this internal drainage system is that once covered, you won't even know it's there. It's removing water right underneath your feet.

New Wall Panels Installed

These walls are hard a durable, the vinyl surface is even washable. Also, since the material is not organic, mold won't grow on them or the foam insulation behind your walls.
