Photo Album: Total Basement Finishing in Newburgh, IN
Jose M. had only had half of his basement finished. As his family was growing, he realized that he was outgrowing the first space, and it was time to finish the second half. He looked up basement finishing contractors in his area and landed on Healthy Spaces. He examined some prior work that we had done, liked what he saw, and called us to schedule his free estimate appointment.
Our system design specialist, Mike McAtee, inspected Jose's basement and then sat down together to discuss exactly what he wanted to achieve. One of the major things that he wanted was the EverLast Basement Wall Panels. EverLast Basement Wall Panels are made from 2 1/2—in. thick rigid foam insulation with 1/2—in. thick cement board cladding. The cement board is finished with an off-white vinyl surface treatment. Along with this, he wanted new linen ceiling panels installed. They opted to have the flooring installed themselves, but we can only imagine how it brought the room together!
Now that our work here is done, Jose and his family are loving their new space.
Needing More Living Space
Before this basement was finished there was a lot of storage space, but no real living space for the family. This half of the basement was dark and uninviting and needed help.
Before Total Basement Finishing
Before finishing the basement, the homeowners had exposed block walls that were not very visually appealing, or very good at insulating the home.
Framing the New Space
Before we came in to finish the basement, the homeowners had a very dark and dusty basement. The basement was never fully finished so it was extremely dusty. During this framing stage, they were making new walls for extra storage.
