A homeowner located in Marion, KY, was interested in protecting the vapor barrier in his crawl space. Humidity and moisture were constant issues in his state that he desperately needed to repair to have an energy-efficient home. The pin insulation, also known as fiberglass insulation, started to fall or hang due to the high humidity. When insulation such as this is failing, the best solution is to remove it all. The homeowner was ready to transform the space for the better.
Before installing a new system to keep humidity away, all insulation from the ceiling is taken down. CleanSpace is then laid throughout the crawl space to seal the space from the outside air. CleanSpace is a 20 mil liner that brightens up the atmosphere. A SmartSump pump is put into the ground to constantly pump water out that enters the crawl space. The sump pump prevents any water from happening again. It thrilled the homeowner to know that his crawl space is energy-efficient!
Before
