In Owensboro, Kentucky, a homeowner reached out to Healthy Spaces in hopes of encapsulating her crawl space. She had previous work done somewhere else that did insulation/ water barrier work that seemed to have been done incorrectly. Upon further inspection, the crawl space was infested with mold. Mold was visible throughout the crawl space's floor as well as the wooden beams. The standing water and humidity in the crawl space made it possible for mold to thrive.
Drainage matting was laid on the floor, allowing water flow to be directed to the sump pump. It also adds extra protection before the CleanSpace is secured on top. A new access well door, The Turtl, was put in to make it easily accessible and secure without allowing water vapor to enter the crawl space. The Turtl can be locked to prevent unwanted guests from intruding inside. The transformation was incredible, leaving the homeowner astounded!
Mold Spores
Mold spores were active and continued to spread throughout the crawl space. This can pose a danger to the homeowner's health.
Another View
This is another view of mold that was growing on the wooden beams.
Drainage Matting
Water that does come from the ground, will be directed from the drainage matting to the sump pump.
Access Well
The access well needed a new opening that tightly secures the crawl space away from potential dangers such as water vapor.
The Turtl
The Turtl is made of rigid plastic that will hold up to daily wear and tear.
CleanSpace
CleanSpace brightens up the space and has antimicrobial additives that prevent mold growth on the material.
