Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Water Leaking into a Basement in Fort Branch, IN
In FortBranch, IN, a homeowner had a concern about water leaking into the basement, especially when it was raining. Water leakage was found near the bottom of the wall, with a black and brown line where the water was sitting on the floor. As water is finding a stilled place to sit, it can form mold on organic surfaces. Since there is a place that water is finding a way in through, it is also bringing in outdoor air that forms humidity. Energy costs are more whenever a place is constantly humid. The basement needed all openings that were brought in outdoors to be sealed off.
To begin the process of an energy-efficient basement, a trench is formed in the ground beside the wall for the WaterGuard to go into. Once the WaterGuard is placed inside, the UltraSump ump is installed in the ground to receive water that came through the WaterGuard system and then passed along to the sump pump. Dimple matting is placed on the wall where the water was leaking in from. Dimple matting adds layering for the CleanSpace line to lay on top of and to direct water that comes through the walls to the WaterGuard system. CleanSpace is sealed on top of the dimple matting, brightening up the area and sealing off the cracks in the walls. The homeowner was pleased to know that her basement would be safe for her use.

A small trench beside the walls is formed for the WaterGuard system to fit into.
WaterGuard and UltraSump
The WaterGuard and UltraSump are placed into the ground to help dispose of the water that comes through the walls.
UltraSump pump and SaniDry Sedona
The UltraSump pump will continue to pump out water that enters the pump. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier will continuously create a dry air flow that will prevent mold from forming.
After Photo
Cement is poured over the WaterGaurd and once the cement dries, it will blend in with the rest of the untouched ground. The homeowner's cat seems pleased with the finished product.
