Fort Branch is the largest town in Gibson County and the amount of groundwater present in the soil is unusually high. Many homeowners, just like the Martens, experience basement and crawlspace flooding. The most common challenge in these installations is wall leakage. Wall leakage occurs because groundwater becomes trapped in the block sections between the soil and the waterproof paint on the interior of the basement. Once the installation team begins to jackhammer out the trenches below the walls, the water is released and begins to fill the trenches. This results in the trenches filling with water. The installation team works in muddy water throughout the installation.
