Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Moisture Barrier and Home Settlement in Bremen, KY
A homeowner in Bremen, Kentucky had noticed for some time that his foundation was settling. There were cracks on the outside of the home's foundation which indicated that it needed a permanent solution to stop the process from further damage to the home. What had caused the foundation to crack was the moisture in the wooden beams that held the floor up. One of the columns had thin wooden boards stuffed to keep the floor partly stable. The crawl space needed the foundation lifted and encapsulated.
One SmartJack was used to replace the concrete blocks and wooden boards that previously attempted to hold the foundation. Next, the CleanSpace and drainage matting combination is set to be completed. The drainage matting will catch water from the ground and store it in the dimples to prevent the CleanSpace that is installed on top from bubbling and flooding underneath. The water that does come through the dirt ground will be carried to the SmartSump. Once the home was stabilized and encapsulated, the homeowner was elated by the transformation.
Before

Foundation Cracks

SilverGlo
SilverGlo is the insulation that is installed under the CleanSpace to better insulate the walls
After
Not only does CleanSpace brighten up the place, but protects the moisture barrier from moisture entering the crawl space again.
SmartSump
The SmartSump will continue to pump water that comes from the dirt ground below, outside.
