Crawl Space Repair - Fixing a leaky crawlspace in Evansville, IN | Case Study

The crawl space water intrusion problem in this Evansville, IN home was so significant, that the entire house began to smell musty as crawl space air infiltrated the living areas through the floor boards.
The homeowners were concerned about mold in the crawl space and how it would affect the indoor air quality. They also wanted to make the crawl space more energy efficient.

Upon inspection, our System Design Specialist not only detected mold and high humidity, bit there was water pooling on the dirt floor as well.

To address all these issues, Healthy Spaces installed a crawl space drainage system and a sump pump, to keep water from pooling under the house. A drainage mat and a crawl space encapsulation system was installed to seal and completely isolate the area from the ground water and outside moisture.
Finally, SilverGlo rigid foam insulation caulked with spray foam was used to insulate and air seal the rim joist.
