Bowing Basement Walls in Newburgh, IN
Challenge
These Newburgh, IN homeowners had noticed that their block foundation wall was bowing inward and it was bad enough that they were concerned that the wall might fail. On top of that problem, they had also noticed that the corner of the wall was settling, causing cracking and other foundation problems. They had Healthy Spaces foundation repair team out to repair the problem. They were concerned about destroying their existing landscaping and the settling corner of the foundation was in an area where it would prove difficult to install the required piers.
Solution
Steven and his installation team consulted with the homeowner's Design Specialist, Damon and together decided that the excavation for the piers would be done by hand, rather than using a machine. This would allow the installation team to place the brackets in the correct position without worrying about existing utilities nearby. All in all, the installation team installed 9 Geolock Wall Anchors with extra long rods and several piers. The foundation was stabilized and the bowing foundation wall will be gradually tightened.
