Carbon Fiber Installation in Cannelton, IN

Challenge

These Cannelton, IN homeowners had not realized that their leaking basement was contributing to another problem: foundation cracking.  One day, Jackie noticed that she had a large crack in one foundation wall.  "It seems like it just appeared, but I know it must have been getting bigger for a while", she said.  The homeowners contacted Healthy Spaces to get a plan together to repair the cracked foundation.  

"The real concern that we had was how to return structural integrity to the wall without using anything on the exterior of the home.  The next door neighbor's house was really close to the property line and it just wasn't going to work access-wise to try and install something like a wall anchor.  Instead, we needed an interior solution", said Damon, foundation specialist with Healthy Spaces.

Solution

Due to the restrictions on the exterior access of the home, the team formulated a comprehensive interior solution.  The home needed a complete basement makeover and the homeowners wanted a functional living space at the end of the project.  The team remediated mold, installed push piers to return the home to level condition, then installed carbon fiber over the cracks to reinforce them.  They installed a full perimeter Waterguard system to stop basement leaking, which included a sump pump system and Sanidry dehumidifying unit.  They finished the installation with beautiful white BrightWall wall panels and a Millcreek floor.  All in all, the project took just under two weeks to complete and the homeowners have a new entertaining space!
