Mold Remediation in Boonville, IN
Challenge
This Boonville, IN home is just over 2300 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on an unfinished basement. The homeowners noticed that the basement was damp and leaking on a regular basis. This lead to a problem with mold that required immediate attention. The homeowners contacted Healthy Spaces to resolve their mold problem permanently. Richard Cline of Healthy Spaces came to the Boonville home and provided them with a customized solution to their mold and basement dampness needs.
Solution
First and foremost, Richard explained to this Boonville family that the Healthy Spaces team would remediate the mold, but that they also recommend removing all sources of water leakage within the home. The main basement water penetration was coming from the perimeter, along the walls and floors. Richard and his crew prepared the basement by applying plastic to all horizontal surfaces and wrapping all fixtures before scrubbing down every surface. The plastic was then removed and properly disposed of before the covered areas were also disinfected to kill all the mold spores. Finally, Richard and his crew installed a perimeter drain system called Waterguard complete with a SuperSump pump system to prevent future water intrusion. The waterproofing system also included a Sanidry dehumidifier to lower the relative humidity to below 60% to prevent mold regrowth.
