Mold Remediation Photo Album: Eckerty, IN Crawl Space Repaired
The dreaded crawl space- a place where these homeowners definitely NEVER went. Their crawl space was full of everything that you don't want: standing water, mold, and rot. When getting ready to list their home on the market, the home inspector knew that the crawl space had to be repaired before it would sell. They urgently needed a contractor to come to give them an estimate, and we were able to fulfill that job!
A System Design Specialist came to the home to do a thorough inspection of the crawl space. Right away, he noticed that the standing water was bad news. He recommended that the homeowners remediate the mold that was growing, as well as get a new vapor barrier. The homeowner agreed and they went along with their project!
Flooded Sump Pump in Crawl Space
The standing water in this crawl space is proof that the sump pump isn't doing its job. One of the big problems with coverless sump pumps is that they're susceptible to clogging or breaking from debris.
Plastic Barriers Don't Work
This home had a 6 mil ground cover, but because it had holes in it and wasn't sealed at the perimeter up the walls, it didn't stand a chance to do its job.
A Very Bad Combination
Mold loves paper facing on insulation. The fiberglass insulation in this crawl space does little when its not in a closed cavity or when it's damp.
Clean from Mold
Our mold crew treated the mold in this crawl space, making it a healthy place to be. Mold growth is very common in crawl spaces with moisture issues and standing water.
