Mr. H had been researching crawlspace waterproofing options for several years. He wasn't finding exactly what he wanted and he kept putting off dealing with the seasonal water intrusion. Mr. and Mrs. D of West Louisville, KY have been suffering from seasonal crawlspace flooding for some time now. Jeffrey and his family had a flooding basement.  "It was making it impossible to keep the house sane anymore.  The kids were everywhere and there wasn't a dedicated space for them to play in with their friends.  It was driving me crazy, " said Mrs. S.  They decided it was time to take back their basement and finish it.  But first, they needed to keep it from flooding.

Over six months after the basement was treated for mold and waterproofed, Jeffrey reports that the basement is finished as a playroom and rec room for the family.  The basement waterproofing system has worked perfectly! No flooding and no moisture. 

Gil and his wife had to vacuum up water from their basement constantly.  It was becoming exhausting. A crawlspace can be a very difficult space to keep clean, dry, and mold free.  The biggest issue that the homeowners were facing was how to secure their horribly broken and mangled crawlspace door in order to keep the relative indoor humidity level under control and the crawlspace locked up.  As the cover cracked further, their crawlspace was now actively leaking conditioned air from the HVAC system into the outdoors and pulling in humid outdoor air into the crawlspace.

Turtl doors are durable, rigid plastic that will not rust or break. They were done in a single day and the crawlspace is already showing lower relative humidity.

This Philpot, KY crawlspace was flooding seasonally and needed mold remediation badly.  The homeowners had tried without success to dry out the space and hopefully kill the mold that way, but it wasn't working.  In desperation, they contacted Damon Cheatham, Crawlspace Design Specialist, to create a custom solution to dry out the crawlspace.  He recommended a full mold remediation to resolve the mold issues.  Next, he recommended a drainage system and sump pump systems to keep the area from flooding.  Finally, Damon recommended a thick, durable vapor barrier.

The key to this waterproofing system is that it has an opening to drain water from the walls. It is engineered specifically to be an efficient, long-lasting interior perimeter basement system. It sits on top of the footing of the basement, instead of alongside of it which allows for water to drain to the sump pump. 

Since Phillip's new system has been installed, he has been able to enjoy his extra square footage in his basement without the worry of it ever being wet from the rain. He is very satisfied with the products our Design Specialist helped him pick and can definitely say that he isn't worried about a wet basement anymore!

What's worse than a wet basement? A wet basement AND crawl space. These Whitesville, KY homeowners were, unfortunately, experiencing both.
