Water in the basement is never a good thing because it leads to increased moisture, mold, and an unhappy homeowner. This Island, KY homeowner was feeling all of these things. She finally decided to call Healthy Spaces for a free inspection.

Upon receiving Mary's call for help, Design Specialist, Mike McAtee was scheduled to do a thorough inspection of her basement. When he arrived, they greeted each other with a smile and the work began. He recommended that a new drainage system be installed to prevent any more leaking. This drainage system would be under the concrete, so it wouldn't be noticeable. It runs straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump that was also installed.

In Island, KY, a water leak occurred in a homeowner's crawl space, causing wetness, and recently noticed a smell traveling up to the main floor. Insulation had begun to fall under the house. Once insulation, also known as fiberglass floor insulation has been exposed to moisture, it becomes useless to the home. After fiberglass insulation has been exposed to moisture, it will become a thriving home for mold. 

All fiberglass insulation is removed from the crawl space before installing a new, efficient system. Dimple polyethylene membrane drainage matting is laid across the floor to allow water to flow toward the SmartSump pump that was put in. Next, CleanSpace is secured on the floor and sides of the space. CleanSpace is a 20 mil plastic liner that has an antimicrobial additive manufactured into the material, the homeowner loved the transformation and value that it brought to his home!

This Island, KY home was flooding on a regular basis.  The wall leaked and the groundwater came up through the floor.  The homeowners contacted Damon Cheatham at Healthy Spaces for help.  After explaining several options and talking through the pros and cons for those options, the homeowners, Maresa and Dave, elected to install a Waterguard system.  They chose a TripleSafe sump pump and Everlast Wall panels to control wall leaking and direct it into the Waterguard system.

The crew was on site in the home for 4 and a half days, where they installed 114 linear feet of Waterguard, a TripleSafe and 8 Everlast wall panels.  The entire system transformed the basement into a beautiful space that will be dry all the time!
