One of the most important features of any waterproofing system is a reliable, properly installed discharge line. A discharge line needs to insure that the water is removed from the crawlspace without clogging, freezing, or allowing the water back into the crawlspace.
In these pictures you can see that the discharge line is going far out into the homeowner's side yard to discharge the water over 30' from the basement foundation wall. This will keep the water from flowing back into the basement and creating a constant problem.
In addition, this discharge line has an IceGuard at the point where the discharge line exists the basement. An IceGuard will keep the discharge line from clogging or freezing during the winter months.
As you can see in the Before picture, the Healthy Spaces team has carefully removed the existing sod and placed it on black plastic, then they have dug out the discharge line and piled that soil on the black plastic as well. This will make it extremely easy for the crew to restore the yard.
In the After picture, you can see, or barely see, where the discharge line was installed. The dirt was replaced and tamped down, then the sod was replaced over the line as well. Once the sod reestablishes its rootbase, the discharge line will be invisible to the naked eye.

In Evansville, IN, the homeowner needed an updated and tightly sealed access door. Many crawl spaces have access wells from the outside. Some access doors are made of plywood, which is not recommended because since it is close to the ground, it will rot. If it is made of plywood, bugs will eat at it and weathering will cause the plywood to warp. If the access door is outside, it is suggested to have an inorganic material to cover the space rather than organic.
The EverLast access well is an all-plastic door that won't rot, warp, or need paint. Knobs screw into anchors in the wall to draw the door tight against weather stripping to seal off outside air. Animals and other living things will not be able to enter the space since it is tightly sealed. It is important to seal off openings so that any type of weather is not able to enter the crawl space and disrupt the dry climate. A new access door creates peace of mind for the homeowner, knowing that animals or different weather climates were not able to escape inside the space.

In this Evansville, IN home, the source of the moisture took several months to discover and by that time, the mold growth was explosive! The problem began with a small leak in the line coming out from the washing machine. It was a dripping that traveled along the pipe and was virtually undetectable because it was happening within the walls. After time, the surrounding area was so moist that the drywall collapsed upon itself at a touch. The surrounding carpet and pad, subfloor, and pipes were all covered in a thick layer of mold.
As you can see in the before picture, the mold was growing all over the area, which was hidden beneath the house and was only visible in the crawlspace. It wasn't until a design specialist from Healthy Spaces took a look at the crawlspace that the damage was finally revealed. It's suspected that the leak had been occurring for at least 9 months before it was severe enough to be detected.
The after photo shows the amazing difference that the mold remediation team at Healthy Spaces created. They treated the affected area with a chemical to kill the mold, then thoroughly scrubbed every surface to remove the spores and dead mold. After removing the debris, they made sure the leak had been resolved and were able to repair any damage from the mold in the subfloor.

Carl M. was referred to Healthy Spaces for a crawlspace encapsulation and drainage system by a friend who had work done by them. He was highly impressed by the professionalism of the company from the very beginning.
Carl met with a System Design Specialist and decided that the crawlspace needed to be dry all the time in order to enhance the indoor air quality of his home, reduce the allergies and asthma symptoms that his family was experiencing, and then remove the possibility of mold growth.
The installation crew installed a SmartPipe drainage system with a Super Sump Pump from Zoeller. Next, they laid down drainage matting, commonly called Dimple Roll, to create a smooth surface and laid over 1500 sqft of Cleanspace, completely covering the floor and walls of the crawlspace. Carl said that the work was completed quickly and efficiently and he's very excited to have a 25 year guarantee that his Cleanspace won't rip or tear!
Ronald, an Evansville homeowner, and his family were constantly fighting cold floors. They had attempted to insulate the crawlspace with fiberglass rolled insulation, but the insulation kept molding due to crawlspace moisture.
In order to create a warmer environment, they decided to install a Cleanspace vapor barrier and SilverGlo Insulation based on recommendations from the Healthy Spaces Design Specialists. SilverGlo has an R-11 rating and a silver coating that will reflect heat back into the crawlspace, so the entire system is more energy efficient.
The SilverGlo panels were placed along all the walls, then pieces of SilverGlo were installed inbetween the rim joists as well. CleanSpace was placed over the dirt floor and the walls. The Cleanspace liner keeps out groundwater, critters, mold, and more.
SilverGlo Installation is part of an energy efficient crawlspace encapsulation system when paired with Cleanspace. The walls of a crawlspace leach heat into the surrounding soil during the colder winter months, which can substantially increase your heating costs and make your furnance work harder than usual. In Evansville, we have HVAC systems that run through our crawlspaces and that means we can increase our heating and cooling savings by installing a complete crawlspace encapsulation system.
Andrew M of Evansville, IN has experienced basement water intrusion seasonally since purchasing his home in 2011. He contacted Healthy Spaces in November 2013 to make his basement dry all the time before Spring brought further problems. Damon at Healthy Spaces examined the entire basement and designed a custom waterproofing solution for Andrew's home complete with Waterguard, an interior drainage system that carries a nationally backed guarantee, as well as a reliable Zoeller Sump Pump. Andrew's Evansville basement will now be dry all spring thanks to Healthy Spaces!
Ernest, an Evansville homeowner, had water entering his basement during heavy rains, as well as during seasonal groundwater run off from the Ohio River. Healthy Spaces came out and offered Ernest a comprehensive solution to this problem!
Their custom designed system included over 120 linear feet of Waterguard interior waterproofing drainage system, a Super Sump Pump system including battery back up and WaterWatch alarm, as well as IceGuard and Lawnscape components on the discharge line. Ernest also had a SaniDry basement dehumidifier installed.
The Waterguard system was installed in less than 3 days! Right away, Ernest noted that the Super Sump was able to quietly and efficiently pump water out of his basement. In fact, the sump pump system can pump over 2200 gallons of water an hour at an 8' discharge head. It's literally heads above the competition!
The Healthy Spaces family is honored to welcome Ernest into their fold and they are proud to offer quality products with excellent results!
Joel S and his family had their crawl space mold proofed by an expert crew at Healthy Spaces of Evansville, IN. Joel met with Donald Stuteville, Jr, regarding a mold remediation project in a crawlspace. The crawlspace was smelly and damp with obvious mold blooms on the wooden subfloor joists and throughout the cement surfaces. Joel was very pleased with Donald, saying, "Donald Stuteville, Jr., was very patient and knowledgeable in explaining your system and answering our questions".
The Healthy Spaces mold remediation team got to work quickly to make a healthier space for the homeowners. Mrs. S said, "...[we] found everyone in your company to be helpful, prompt, courteous and professional".

Joel and his family were so satisfied that they said, "Just as our neighbor recommended you to us, we will recommend your company with confidence to others".
Mr. and Mrs. S are extremely pleased with their CleanSpace installation after Richard Cline and his crew completed work on their home.
The homeowners met with Damon Cheatham, who recommended a CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system to isolate their home from seasonal groundwater intrusion, as well as from mold and mildew problems.
The Healthy Spaces installation team installed SilverGlo in the rim joists, CleanSpace engineered film to encapsulate the crawlspace, and a Turtl crawlspace door. Mr. S. said, "You and your crew are absolutely amazing ! Thanks so much. I highly recommend you and your company to residents and neighbors. Damon said we would be pleased and we are!"

Once the design specialist, Damon, checked out their crawlspace, he found an inadequate number of support jacks underneath the living room floor. The homeowners had 4 Smart Jacks installed at regular intervals underneath the living room. "Those Smart Jacks are real easy to install, we saw results right away!"

Mr and Mrs Homeowner of Shepherdsville, KY had tried to repair their flooding crawl space several times over the last few years. They tried clear plastic rolled out on the floor, but it tore very easily and lasted just weeks. Next, they tried black plastic vapor barrier, but it was easily destroyed just by crawling across it. At last, they decided to fix the problem permanently and contacted Damon at Healthy Spaces. He came out and did a free estimate. Together, Damon and the homeowners decided that the best solution was a drainage system, drainage matting, a sump pump, and CleanSpace. Cleanspace is guaranteed against rips, tears, and water on top of the liner for 25 years!
While Richard Cline and his installation crew came out the property, they discovered a plumbing leak! Richard promptly took a picture of the leak and informed the homeowner! He even helped them describe the problem! What great service!
Kate had previously lived in a home with a finished basement, so moving to her new home in Evansville, IN was a huge shock because there was an unsealed dirt Crawlspace below grade. She noticed that the entire home had a damp, dank smell to it and that it was sticky even in cooler weather. She became concerned about mold growth and was tired of being uncomfortable in her own home.
Kate decided to contact Healthy Spaces to see what could be done about her Crawlspace. She met with Donnie and he explained how Healthy Spaces could encapsulate her Crawlspace to entirely seal it off from the outside air, creating a conditioned space. By encapsulating the Crawlspace, they could lower the relative humidity in Kate's home, reducing or eliminating the smell and making the home more comfortable.
The Healthy Spaces installation crew, led by Ritchie. He and the team installed CleanSpace to seal the Crawlspace off from outside air. Earlier this summer, Kate's area of town had over 6" of rain fall and her Crawlspace remained clean and dry!
The Millers of Vine Grove, KY were tired of replacing their black plastic vapor barrier. They noted that for one reason or another, it felt like they were constantly replacing it. It would tear when they had HVAC work done, the crawlspace would flood and needed to be remediated, mold and fungal growth followed the flooding and required the vapor barrier to be replaced and so on.
On top of being tired of ripping up and laying down a vapor barrier, which was turning out to cost much more than they anticipated, they were also shocked to discover how much it was adding up to deal with a flooding and moldy crawlspace. They decided to have Healthy Spaces permanently resolve their crawlspace issues with CleanSpace.
Just over 1200 sqft of CleanSpace was installed throughout their dirt crawlspace, isolating the home from the surrounding soil and air. The vents were covered and the CleanSpace installed up to the subfloor. With the crawlspace encapsulated, the Millers were able to condition the crawlspace and keep the entire home the right temperature with a significant reduction in heating and cooling costs!
Douglas had Healthy Spaces out to perform an evaluation and estimate for his flooding basement. "In the course of the inspection, they even found that I had a termite problem. Because they offer so many other services, they checked things I had not thought about," Douglas said.
Damon, with Healthy Spaces, let Douglas know the things that were essential to do and also things that were optional and could be done later. Together, Douglas and Damon broke the pricing down to what each thing would cost, the priority order, and a schedule for repairs. Douglas said, "Even though they were higher, I went with them for that reason. The work went well and I'm very pleased to be problem free--termites and wet basement are resolved!"
Seth, a homeowner in Evansville, had noticed that his block foundation wall along the back of his home was shifting out of plumb. Previously, he had needed to correct the grade on that side to direct water away from his foundation and he was concerned that the prior water intrusion had compromised his foundation.
The Healthy Spaces team installed Geolock Wall Anchor system for the back wall of Seth's home. They placed 4 wall anchors--two wall anchors installed 3 feet from the corners of the wall and then two more anchors just over 6 and a half feet apart. The installation took 3 days and the installation team was able to dig small "potholes" in the backyard to install the earth anchors, which meant that Seth's landscaping was practically untouched by the construction.
These Evansville, IN homeowners were having a terrible time with their crawlspace. They had been battling mold and fungus issues for several years and were tired of dealing with it. On top of that, they had noticed their kitchen floor was very bouncy and squeaked. They decided to have Jeff with Healthy Spaces out to take a look at things and see what they could do to remedy the problem.
When Jeff explored the crawlspace, he found that the joist beneath the kitchen area had been supported by several cinder blocks stacked on top of one another. Over time, the joist had warped, applying pressure to the cinder the blocks and those blocks had cracked. Now, there was a space between the joist and the cracked cinder blocks. This made for a bouncy, springy floor in the kitchen.
The homeowners elected to have SmartJack Support Posts installed in place of the cinder blocks. Besides the fact that the SmartJacks are stronger than cinder blocks, they are also adjustable, so the kitchen floor will never be bouncy again!
The homeowners in Evansville, IN, was having a real problem with his consistently damp, muggy crawl space and soon the professionals at Healthy Spaces were contacted. She met with her Design Specialists, Donnie Stuteville who recommended we install a vapor barrier that will prevent water vapor and humidity from passing through.
Donnie designed a system using CleanSpace, treating for mold remediation, and installing a sump pump to keep the crawl space dry and give these homeowners some peace of mind. Joan is happy to have more work installed by the local experts.
When homeowner Chad B. of Evansville, IN realized the danger of his basement walls bowing inward and foundation wall cracks, he gave Healthy Spaces a call for help.
System design specialist, Mike Rogers, headed over to do an inspection on the home and create a design that would resolve the issue. Basement walls begin to bow inward when the soil around the home causes an intense amount of pressure too much for the walls to handle. Mike proposed that we install our PowerBrace System. The PowerBrace consists of steel I-beams that prevent any further inward movement from happening among the basement walls. This system also creates permanent stability and potentially straightens the walls over time.
Because of the PowerBrace installation, Chad B. will not have to worry about the stability of his home.
This crawl space in Mt Vernon, IN was in desperate need of our help. The crawl space was full of moisture, and mold thrives in this type of environment. When mold grows it reproduces more airborne seeds to grow more mold. Mold spores float through the air - think of dandelion seeds in the wind. The wife and daughter who reside in this home, have terrible allergies and they began noticing how their allergies were getting worse. They decided to call Healthy Spaces for a free inspection so they could assess what was happening down below.

Her neighbors had Healthy Spaces do some work in her basement, so she decided to give Healthy Spaces a call. Design Specialist, Bob Roberts, designed a solution with Joy and together decided to install a CleanSpace encapsulation system, SaniDry Sedona, SmartSump, SilverGlo, and an Access Door.
CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through. It also is not susceptible to mold or mildew. The SmartSump will eliminate any source of flooding in the crawl space. The SaniDry Sedona is energy efficient and self-draining which will keep the space dry.
Joy now has a healthy, dry crawl space!
Kara of Newburgh, Indiana wanted to not only protect her crawl space from further water damage and mold but to also ensure that her living environment was healthier, free of mold. Design Specialist, Billy Glenn, from Healthy Spaces, inspected her home and designed a solution that is the best and long-lasting for her waterproofing problems.
Billy proposed that we first needed to treat for the mold she currently has and then we'll apply a product that will prevent it from growing back. Next Healthy Spaces will installed our SmartSump, which will eliminate any flooding water in her crawl space. To stop moisture from passing through her floors and concrete walls, we recommended installing a vapor barrier.
Kara's crawl space will now be mold free and can enjoy her home knowing it's safe and dry!
