This homeowner in Fredonia, KY, had their basement flood years ago. Since then, they've had mold continuously growing in their closets. They've tried dehumidifier after dehumidifier and they kept burning out. Even worse, one of their children was constantly sick due to asthma. That's when they knew they needed to call the experts at Healthy Spaces to eliminate their moisture and mold problem once and for all!
Our Design Specialist, Abe Ford, quickly came to evaluate the situation. He concluded that in order to eliminate the moisture completely and keep the mold from growing back, to install a SanidDry XP Basement Air System. The SaniDry XP can remove up to 109 liters of water per day, it has an ENERGY STAR® rating, and has ductwork compatible for drying finished spaces. Because these homeowners wanted to locate the SaniDry in one place and dry air in another, we needed to duct the air by including the SaniDry XP Ducting.
Hardin, KY homeowner, Jim and his wife were struggling to control mold and odor coming from their basement. The basement seemed constantly wet and they never felt it ever got completely dry. "Damon from Healthy Spaces came out for free and spent over 2 hours discussing issues and solutions with us", says Jim.
Damon and Jim decided the best solution for the home was to install a full-perimeter French drain in the basement. Healthy Spaces has installed thousands of custom drainage systems just like this one in basements and crawlspaces across the area. The systems are comprised of a rugged plastic drainage channel network called WaterGuard. The Waterguard connects to a sump pump system that expels the water far from the basement to keep it dry.
Another successful installation of one of our sump pumps. Here you can see the hole dug and then after the sump pump is placed in the hole and cemented.
This shows what a wall looked like before our team cleaned it up and installed one of our Dry Tracks to help divert moisture toward the sump pump.
You can see how Brightwall looks after it is installed. It helps direct water toward the sump pump in order for the basement to be drained more effectively.
