Sagging Floors in Lewisport, KY

Starr N. from Lewisport, KY was having issues with her floors. She had noticed that they were beginning to slope, creak, and felt uneven. As if the creaking floors weren't enough, she also noticed a musty smell worsening over time, which she thought could be mold.

System Design Specialist, Mike McAtee, came to Starr's home to provide her with a free no-obligation inspection. He did a thorough inspection of her crawl space, as well as her main floor. When he was finished, he proposed a solution for the sagging floor. He recommended that SmartJack Stabilizers be installed. These are steel support systems used to stabilize and level the girders and floor joists in a crawl space. This is the best opportunity to lift the above floors and walls back to their original position. This would be a permanent solution, unlike the light-duty jack posts that were currently in the crawl space. These don't work because they can hold very little weight, are difficult to adjust, and don't address the most important problem- the weak foundation soils below.

Crawl Space Jack Posts Repair in Lewisport, KY

Our client in Lewisport, KY began experiencing a bouncy, squeaky floor. After calling Healthy Spaces for a free inspection, it was discovered they had concrete blocks stacked on top of the footer, with wooden "shims" wedged in at the top to fill any empty space. This solution doesn't work because as the concrete columns later settle into the soil below, additional shims may need to be added. In other words, this is a repair that will never permanently be fixed!

Our team replaced some of their supplemental beams and installed 5 SmartJacks. The SmartJack system addresses a solid base of engineered fill to distribute the weight of the home. Galvanized steel columns are cut to length, set on a cast of aluminum footing and secured to existing girders or supplemental beams with adjustable top brackets.

Basement Waterproofing Gentryville, IN

Sara's home in Gentryville, IN had a water problem in her basement. Not being able to use it for storage due to the water, she gave Healthy Spaces a call. Our team installed our TripleSafe sump pump system that comes with an airtight lid, primary pump, secondary pump, and battery backup sump pump. We also installed CleanSpace Vapor Barrier on her basement walls. It's 100% waterproof and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh that will prevent any mold growth. Now Sara has peace of mind knowing that she can use her basement as storage without the worry of ruining any of her belongings.

Reynolds Station, KY Basement Becomes Waterproofed

This Reynolds Station, KY basement was having water issues that the homeowner couldn't keep up with. He would always have to plan what he was doing around the weather forecast to make sure he could be home or have a backup ready if water leaked into his basement. Tired of a wet basement, the homeowner decided to call Healthy Spaces for a permanent solution.

Our System Design Specialist, Jason Dausmann, met with the homeowner to discuss his issues. Jason completed an inspection of the basement and designed a plan for this basement that was sure to keep it water-free. From there, the installer crew got straight to work. The solution to this basement was to install a full perimeter WaterGuard system to prevent water to enter the area. This system is installed around the perimeter of the basement and will collect water internally and channel it to the sump pump. The sump pump will then discharge the water away from the home.

The homeowner is very pleased with his try basement!

Basement Waterproofing in Bee Spring, KY

A family in Bee Spring, KY wanted a guarantee that we would protect their basement from rainy days. Waterproofing their basement was a vital step toward utilizing their space more. The white chalky powder that is visible on the walls is from minerals in the concrete, mortar, or soil that dissolves in water and is left behind when the water evaporates off the surface of the wall. This occurrence is called efflorescence. It is sometimes confused with mold, but it is not harmful. The efflorescence is a sign that water can somehow come through the wall.

Putting an end to the seeping of water through the basement walls was accomplished by installing a few items in the basement. A Super Sump Pump was placed in to pump out any water that would enter the basement. The BrightWall system was put in to drain any water leaks down behind it to the perimeter drainage system. It is a semi-rigid white plastic panel that made the basement much brighter. As it transformed the basement from a once efflorescence home to a bright and cheery place to either sleep or hang out, the family could live in the home peacefully.
